About Brick Breaker
Brick Breaker belongs to the family of paddle games that started with Pong and grew a wall to knock down. The genius of the format is that the ball is your only tool and it never stops moving, so every decision is made while the situation is still changing.
The paddle in this version is angle-sensitive: contact point determines the bounce, which turns the paddle from a wall into an aiming device. Once that clicks, the game stops being about reflexes and starts being about placement — you are steering the ball toward the bricks you want, not just returning it.
Scoring rewards ambition. The top rows are worth triple the bottom rows, so the fastest way to a high score is also the riskiest one: carve a channel up the side and let the ball rattle around above the wall while you wait underneath.
The ball speed rises as the wall thins out, which is why levels tend to end either very quickly or very badly. Three lives, no continues.
Tips for a higher score
- Where the ball hits the paddle decides the angle. Hit it near the edge to send the ball sharply sideways.
- Aim for a tunnel up one side — once the ball is above the wall it clears rows on its own.
- Keep the paddle near the centre when you are unsure; you can reach either side from there.
- The ball speeds up as bricks disappear, so track it earlier rather than reacting late.
